Rev. Lee Neish - Pastor
Pastor Lee Neish came to Sparks UMC in July of 2018.
He preaches justice and believes “all means all.” Lee draws inspiration from the ministry of the Reverend Martin Luther King Jr.
Cindy Sabatini - Director of Music Ministry
Cindy oversees all of our music programs, directs cantatas & drama productions, and provides special music vocal/piano solos, piano and organ accompaniment during our Sunday worship services. She also leads our DevoDance liturgical dance ensemble, and sings and plays keyboard in our praise band “The Beatitudes”. Her passion for music carries over into the musical theater and jazz band world as she periodically performs in local theater productions and sings with 2 local big bands.
She has 4 children, 6 grandchildren and loves music and travel... especially to visit family in Las Vegas, New York City, McMinnville, OR, and even sometimes on cruise ships where her adult children are performing!
Charles White - Church Business Administrator
Charles became our Church Business Administrator in June 2017 and helps organize information, manage team logistics, communicate information relating to the church calendar and building usage, and works toward keeping the day-to-day operations at the church organized and clear. He works with the Pastor, the Church Council, other staff, and committee volunteers to manage the business of the church and ensure our critical functions operate smoothly so that we meet our short and long-term goals.
Charles and his wife Anne have been active in the Reno/Sparks area since they moved here from Atlanta in 2002. He enjoys a variety of sports and outdoor activities, volleyball, and softball. He’s also a big fan of college football. He and Anne adopt old dogs and currently have a sweet 12-year-old mix.
In the Reno community, Charles was Chair of the Reno/Sparks Chamber of Commerce’s Ambassadors team, served as a board member for The Women and Children’s Center of the Sierra, is a member of the Rotary Club of Reno Central and is an active Past-President of his Toastmasters club. Charles helps with the youth group at Reno First UMC and preaches once a month at Church of the Mountains UMC in Truckee, CA.
Charles and Anne have spent the past two and a half decades supporting and leading various youth ministries across the United States. In early 2017, Charles made the “exciting and terrifying decision” to change careers. While Charles runs our office, he is also currently in the Master of Divinity online program at Claremont School of Theology, a Methodist seminary just east of Los Angeles.
